Adult Sunday School  

9:45AM Summer Classes (For the summer, we are having two special sunday school classes.  Our normal adult classes will resume in the Fall).  

$ummer $ense                                                                              (Teacher:  Pastor Lawrence)  pastor@victorybc.org                                 Our Summer Sense class is a just for this summer.  We will be meeting in the gym.  The class gives Biblical princliples on how to deal with finances.  Each week, the class focuses on different aspects of finances that range from debt, getting out of debt, making and living on a budget, and much more.  The class is made up of videos by Dave Ramsey.  Through this class, you will learn how to unlock the secret of developing a monthly spending plan that really works.

Combined Adult Class    (Teacher:  Rotation of Teachers)    For those who do not attend our $ummer $ense, we have a combined Sunday School class in the auditorium.  This class will be more of a traditional Sunday School class.  Our adult Sunday School teachers will be on a rotation of teaching the class.

9:45AM Classes  

A New Journey    (Teacher: Michael King)    Our class focuses on the commitment and covenant of marriage from the engaged couple to those who have been married for a few years. Lessons vary from focusing on the individual to the whole family and how we can put Jesus first and give God the glory. The goal of this class is to help make stronger marriages that will endure.

The Right Way  (Teachers: Jimmy Phillips)    ,     The main focus of the Right Way class is to instruct and equip the parents of teens and other children with Biblical knowledge and practical ways on how to raise their children according to God’s Word. Lessons include understanding what our teens face in the world, what the Scripture says about these areas and how we are to respond. We also focus on the relationship between the teenager and their parents.

Growing in Grace,  II Peter 3:18    (Teacher: Daniel Kelley)     We all have busy lives and often we allow our demanding schedules to interfere with our spiritual growth. Our class exists to aid in the spiritual growth of each other and to encourage each other to become more like Christ. This objective is accomplished by providing support through Bible study, life applications and Christian fellowship. We can assist in a wide variety of life situations, single or married, young or old, with or without children. Anyone who is sincerely seeking to “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” will be at home in our class.

RU Interested?   Galatians 2:20 (Teacher: Wayne Sosebee)        We have structured the RUI class to follow the methods of the Reformers Unanimous ministry and to help students apply these principles in their daily lives. The RUI class is designed for our students that are in our addictions program along with any others who want to learn to live a Christ centered life. The desire is to provide an atmosphere where all students will feel welcomed, loved and wanted. The RU Interested class is taught by Wayne Sosebee, our RU director. Wayne has been in the ministry for over 30 years and still has the zeal of a young man. Ask him why and he’ll tell you that he has never got over what Jesus did for him back in April of 1973. With twenty-five years of pastoral experience, he brings excitement, power and sound doctrine to the classroom. He is now teaching on “Knowing the Enemy.” Too many of God’s children are living a defeated life when they could and should be living a Victorious one. His life verse is 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God.”  Come see what our Great God has given him with you in mind this Lord’s Day.

Young at Heart    (Teacher: Clinton Ayers)     The Young At Heart class is a senior adult Sunday school class that fosters spiritual growth under the leadership of our Sunday school teacher, Clinton Ayers.  Praying for others is one of the most meaningful ministries of our class as well as encouraging younger people to continue their spiritual growth.  We provide cookies and treats to our college students, supplies and food to Reformers Unanimous, and periodic love offerings to selected missionaries.  A rewarding activity that some of our Seniors participate in is a monthly singing and preaching at a Nursing home in Lawrenceville.  As our name suggests, we also enjoy fellowship and fun with wholesome events and activities such as cookouts, potluck dinners, Valentine and Christmas parties, and a new program — "A Day With Pastor" — featuring monthly class get-togethers with Pastor Derik for meals, short trips and other fun activities.

Digging Deeper  II Timothy 2:15    (Teachers: Dr. John Banks and Ed Voorhees)    ;     The Digging Deeper class is the newest adult class at Victory Baptist Church. Our focus is to get deeper in our personal Bible study. Lessons are designed to instruct and challenge the serious student of the Scripture. These include subjects such as Bibliology, Theology, Christology, Pnuematology and the like. Such doctrinal study is designed to help the student know not just what we believe but why we believe it. Come and give us a try. The class is open to anyone who wants to go deeper in the Bible.

Building Better Families  (Teacher: Wayne Ferguson)    Our focus is on the application of Biblical principles and helping students grow in Scriptural knowledge. We do not have a minimum or maximum age limit. Our objective is to encourage students to a closer walk with Jesus in order to help then become a more active servant for Him.

Pearls of Great Price  I Corinthians 6:20    (Teacher: Rita Turpin)    We are a Ladies Class of all ages and all walks of life. Some of us are married, some single, others may be widowed or divorced. As we learn together from the Bible, I pray that each of us will know that it does not matter to God our marital status or our status in general life. Sometimes it can be hard finding where you fit in when you don’t have a spouse or that spouse may not come to church with you. As we study God’s Word, my prayers for us as whole class is that we realize we are complete in Christ, our joy can be full and each of us can serve Him here at Victory and in our everyday lives.

Singled Out  Philippians 2:5    (Teacher:  Ryan Sparks)    Singled Out is designed for those who are out of high school on up through their 20’s. This is a very important time in the life of a Christian. It is a parenthesis, in other words this time of life is when a boy/girl becomes a man/woman. Many come in to the Singles Ministry as boys and girls from the youth group and when they leave the Singles ministry, they leave as men and women equipped to serve the Savior. The foundation of this ministry is the Singles Sunday school class. This is where the Bible is taught in a relevant manner and applied to our daily lives. As Christians, we believe the sole authority for faith and practice is the Word of God, therefore it is taught with passion, conviction, and sincerity. The Singled Out Ministry has a three-fold objective: First to develop the mind of Christ in every believer, next to equip the believer with wisdom, knowledge, and truths from the Bible so that they can take the things they have learned and teach others, and third to bring together a group of like-minded young men and women who create a bond of friendship and brotherhood to last throughout life. Throughout the year, we have fun activities which bring us closer together. Things like White Water Rafting, Corn Maze, and crazy game nights.  We would love to have you visit us.
