Super Sod Party

Yes, that’s right friends and family, we’re hosting the best, the biggest, the boldest sod party to date! (and we hope the last). Seriously, we need all possible hands as we have ordered 60 more pallets of sod! Any man, woman or child that can meet us at 5pm (or earlier) is welcome. Our plan is to work as late as necessary to lay it all. It might not hurt to bring a rake with you if you have one…thanks again in advance!

Welcome Home James Allen Family

photo-2-8

Bro. James Allen and family have returned for another furlough after five years in Brazil.  We’re grateful to have them home and pray God will increase their support and bless their travel while they’re here.

This past Sunday night, I asked Bro. Allen to preach for us and he delivered a great message…God Has a Tree for You…what an encouragement!  It was also good to see his parents, Drs. James and Charlotte Allen (veteran missionaries of 33 years) and his brother, James and Donna Allen (who are also MWBM on deputation) at the service.

Right before the service, our teens paraded in item after item our church brought in for their family as they try to get settled in.  Everything from noodles and sugar to beds and tvs were brought in and it was awesome to see our people respond this way and the thankfulness of the Allen Family.  Thank you church for your faithfulness and giving.

Girly time!

Here we are getting ready for the “Daddy Loves Me Dinner” later tonight. I always take the girls to get their nails done and they love it! Of course, Mariana is too young to attend the dinner, but that doesn’t mean she can’t “paint her fingers and toes” as she puts it. Looking forward to a great night.

Are we there yet?

We left for vacation this morning and here’s the view I have looking into my rear view mirror…even though you can’t see Drake, rest assured we brought him too. Please pray that we’ll have a safe and restful time.

Sunday Summary 06.07.09

We had a very good day today and I just wanted to praise the Lord for it and let everyone know how it went.
First of all, we went to the new summer SS schedule and time. Due to construction and remodeling in all of our buildings right now, we have a crazy two month plan and it started today. Thank you VBC for your patience during this time of transition.
We actually went back to one service for a few weeks and it was packed! There’s no way we could do this during any other time than when so many are on vacation. Pretty exciting to have everyone back even though it was so crowded. Our summer SS emphasis is “We are Victory!” and Bro. Wayne Sosebee taught a great message along those lines!
I also started a new series this week…Following Him-As A Man, and it was pretty intense, but God-honoring and man-challenging! I look forward to the whole month and pray it will change and challenge all of us men.
We had the Champion Baptist College ensemble with us this evening and enjoyed a message by Bro. Tony Smith about the Storms of Life.
To top the day off, we finished with an ice
cream fellowship which was great…what a
great day at Victory…thank You, Lord!
