New Series for November

The November “Get Victory in Your Life” series will focus on Getting Victory in our Community.  Of course, we understand that our “community” does not stop at the boundaries of the 30052 zip code.  It extends to our nation and to the world.

I’m looking forward to seeing what God does on Sunday mornings as we venture to “Get Victory in our Community!”  Please pray for God to bless the messages He has prepared for us.  More than ever, church, we must understand that God did not save us to sit, He saved us to serve!  Our impact MUST extend beyond the four walls of the auditorium or we are not fulfilling what God has called us to do.

We believe the purpose for VBC is to “provide a method or means to minister to every member of our community and world with the Message of the Gospel!”

Upcoming Bible Conference

We are looking forward to having Dr. R.B. Ouellette with us again for our Fall Bible Conference which begins on Monday night, November 17th.  We would love to have anyone who can attend be a part of the services both Monday and Tuesday nights beginning at 7pm.

As an added feature this year, Dr. Ouellette will be conducting an “Understanding My Bible” session this year on Tuesday afternoon.  He will defend the issues surrounding the King James Bible and the session promises to be very informative and challenging.  Time permitting we will also have a Q&A time with Dr. Ouellette.

In addition, the church will be providing supper for all the pastors, staff, missionaries and evangelists attending the Tuesday afternoon session.  Although not necessary, it would be helpful to notify the church of an approximate number if you are planning on attending this session.

Reach Out Ministry

I am very excited about one of our ministries we are revamping…our soulwinning/visitation program.  We have named it our Reach Out Ministry.  Beginning next Wednesday, Nov. 5th, we will be having our church-wide outreach program prior to our midweek services.  There are several reasons for the change, the main one however, is the hope we’ll have more people “reaching out” to our community with the message of the Gospel.

There will be a supper served beginning at 5PM and ending at 5:45 for all those that come to visit.  We’ll then head out at 6 to make a visit or two and then get back to services.  There will be Children’s Choir practice and Teen Choir practice at 6, as well as a nursery for those too young for the Children’s Choir. (We’d still love to have you even if you can’t make it till 6)

I’m praying that God will help us to be more faithful than ever in “Reaching Out” to Loganville and the surrounding areas.  This will also assist us in following up on those who may haven’t attended in a while due to various reasons.  It’s amazing how much a church “reaching out” can make a difference.  While churches often drop the ball in some of these areas, we want to help plug any holes we as a church might have.

You and your family can make a huge difference by coming with me and family to Reach Out.

The following are some humorous promotional videos the staff made…enjoy!

Next Floor, please!

Here’s a picure towards the end of today’s work. As you can tell, the plywood has been put down on the first floor. Weather permitting, tomorrow (Fri) they’ll begin framing the walls for the main level. Notice if you will the height of the building already (in comparison to the existing buildings)..add to that the auditorium height and ceiling and we have a very tall structure! Then, add the steeple height and we’re pretty confident we’ll be able to see the church from Hwy. 78!! Of course, only time will tell that. Praise the Lord! Maybe somebody will see the cross and find their way Home!

Kid’s Crusade Going Well

With over 200 in attendance on a school night, we were very pleased. I’m not sure on the number of decisions, but several went back to be dealt with.

Kid’s Crusade with David Bishop

I’m looking forward to the kick-off of our Kid’s Crusade starting tonight and ending this Sunday evening with our Annual Fall Festival.  Please pray that children will be saved and others challenged to live more like Christ.  Pray that Bro. Bishop will be used by the Lord in a tremendous way.

Symmetrical Life…3 and 3

After going to the doctor this week with my wife, we were told that our sixth child would be a boy!  Michelle and I, as well as the kids, are very excited about that.  With our other children we never found out the gender, but with this one, Michelle wanted to be a little more prepared seeing as how we got rid of all of our baby items after the last one.  It also helps to narrow down a name. (we are very bad about not having a name till the day we leave the hospital)

I praise the Lord for a good report on the baby…we do have to go in again in 6 weeks for some more testing due to Placenta Previa.  Please pray that it will right itself.

Look, there’s plenty of room for one more!
