What an incredible week it has been! I just stepped out of the auditorium where 149 kids are being enthralled by Bro. Chad Gordons’ exciting service. We’re down some tonight, we had 160+ youth last night, but it is going great. We had several professions of faith last night and of course that is the best part. The guys ended up winning the “penny offering” so that means Mrs. Ashley King will be getting “slimed” here in a little bit. The “slime” is nothing more than some thick oatmeal mixed with things to give it color like ketchup and the like…the kids will love it. They will also be getting more pizza than they can eat, coupled with tons of candy. Of course, every young person is on the edge of their seat hoping their name will be the one called out to win the Xbox 360. I want to thank all of our workers, bus drivers, parents and staff for the hard work committed to this long week which started with our Fall Festival last Saturday. It has been worth it all for those who have been saved this week! I love these kids and I love you church!

…all the time, God is Good! Praise the Lord for another wonderful day at the Lord’s house today. Once again, we had several visitors and several second and third timers. Of course, the best thing was that we had two more adults receive Christ as their Saviour. One lady visited today as a result of our churchwide Family Outreach Day. Someone knocked on her door and invited her…she came…she got saved…that’s the way it works, Amen! Our job is to fill the house, His job is to feed the hungry. The other man was one that I was following up on and witnessing to yesterday before our Fall Festival. The Lord had been dealing with him and he came down at invitation time to get it settled. Both are scheduled to get baptized next week. We also had two teens get saved on Wed. night and we had some children come down in tonight’s service, however I do not know their decisions yet. Man, we had 111 young people for the first night of our Kid’s Krusade…it was awesome. Bro. David Bishop is our visiting children’s evangelist this week and he has done a wonderful job for us.
If you weren’t able to be here or were serving in another ministry this morning, make sure you get a copy of the message…the Lord really blessed this morning. My wife told me it was a life-changing message for her…specifically there at the end of the message were I expounded on what “walking with God” is and what it’s not. Hopefully we’ll get the messages online very soon. (By the way, if you have any experience in that area, I would love to talk to you.)
Personally Speaking: In the morning I look forward to taking some time and gettin’ in the woods…I haven’t really been able to do that this year yet and am excited about it. Of course it’s been pretty bright here lately due to the moon, so I’ll have to stay in a liitle later in the morning. Hopefully I’ll post tomorrow about what I’ve taken to the cooler! While we’re on the subject of hunting, duck season is right around the corner and if anybody has any property where I might be able to hunt some ducks, I’ll be glad to get that info from you. Well, enough of that…I love you church! Thanks for support of this Pastor and family and the VBC ministry. See you Monday night at 7 for the Kid’s Krusade.

We had a great day today at our Fall Festival. We had a TON of people enjoying the six moonwalks, pizza, cotton candy, popcorn and all kinds of candy. We had a cakewalk and gave away nearly 100 cakes! The hayride and the appearance of Super Rat rounded off a day of great fun. I want to thank all of those who helped make today a great day for our kids. I especially want to give kudos to Bro. Patrick and Bro. Josh for a great day…good job guys.

I praise the Lord for what He is doing through our national addictions program, Reformer’s Unanimous. We affectionately call it “RU”. Last week I had the privilege of going to Rockford, Illinois where the national headquarters are located and where the National RU Conference was held. It was exciting! There were right at 1200 delegates from across the nation and even the world. We had 12 of us present and it was an incredible experience to hear more testimonies of God’s deliverance of strongholds in people’s lives as well as from the training sessions and preaching sessions we attended. On the last night RUI hosted a 1200 seat, sit down dinner which was absolutely first class. I did not realize until we were halfway through the night that they would be awarding certain people with awards for the year. Because of the tremendous growth of RU, they have regionalized the US. It’s with great honor that I inform you that out of 7 awards given to the SE Region, those of our chapter received 4!! So, congratulations first of all to all of VBC, as our church was awarded the “2007 Church of the Year”. Christina Hellums was awarded the “2007 Server of the Year”. Judy Sosebee was awarded the “2007 Leader of the Year”, and Ted Taylor was awarded the “2007 Student of the Year”. I cannot tell you how proud I am of these individuals as well as the rest of our chapter for the accomplishments of this past year. Keep up the good work RU Crew!

Pastorally Speaking: Once again the Lord blessed us this past Sunday with His presence. Although we had several out due to sickness and the Walton County school break, there were still a great number in attendance. Praise the Lord for 3 salvation decisions being made public as well as Mrs. Johnson joining VBC. I don’t know if you realized the good Sunday night congregation we had or not either…we had several first time visitors (I like them Sunday night visitors.) Since this post isn’t being published till today (Thursday), let me say that we had great services last night as well. Bro. Chad and the teens blew it out last night under the tent with all kinds of crazy games and fun, but the most important thing was that we had TWO teenagers get saved! Great job VBC Youth Ministry!
In the auditorium we continued with our “Understanding our Bible” series. We’ve only been in it for two weeks now, so if you’ve missed, you’re not too far behind. You can pick up the lessons in the back of the auditorium before each Wed. PM service.
Personally Speaking: I’m looking for somebody that really knows MS Excel. I have a couple of projects that I need volunteer work on and am in need of somebody with the time and experience to do fairly complicated sheets. Let me know if YOU’RE the person I’m looking for.

On behalf of the Doris King family, we want to say “Thank You” to everyone who reached out to minister to us during our loss. Your acts of kindness, meals, cards, letters, calls and visits were greatly appreciated. We have a great church with a great heart! We love you!
